By using this calculator (the “Site”) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please don’t use the Site.
This is an estimate, not tax advice
The Site is an information tool to help UK online sellers get a rough sense of their marketplace fees and possible tax and National Insurance. The figures it produces are estimates only. They are not tax, accounting, legal or financial advice, and no client or advisory relationship is created by using the Site.
Everyone’s situation is different, and the calculator deliberately does not cover every case — for example Scottish income-tax bands, student-loan repayments, pension contributions, VAT, capital gains, marriage allowance, multiple self-employments, or losses carried forward. Before you file anything, always check the current rules at gov.uk or speak to a qualified accountant.
Where the numbers come from
Tax and National Insurance figures are based on published gov.uk rates for the tax year you select. Marketplace fee figures are based on each platform’s own published fee pages. Rates and fees change, and platforms can change their charges at any time, so a figure that was correct when we last checked it (see the “Sources” section on the calculator) may since have changed. We update the Site on a best-efforts basis but do not guarantee it is complete or current at the moment you use it.
No warranty and limit of liability
The Site is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. While we take care to be accurate, we do not warrant that the results are error-free or suitable for your circumstances. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Site or its results — including any tax, penalty, interest or other cost. You remain responsible for your own tax affairs and for checking the figures before you act on them. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under law.
Affiliate links
Some links on the Site are affiliate links — most notably to TaxScouts, an online accountancy service. If you sign up through such a link we may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. This never affects the figures the calculator shows you, and it is not a recommendation tailored to your situation. We only link to services we consider genuinely relevant to UK side-hustlers.
Your use of the Site
You may use the Site for your own personal, non-commercial tax planning. Please don’t misuse it — for example by trying to break, overload or copy the Site wholesale. The design, text and calculation logic are the property of the Site owner and are protected by copyright.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
